Complete Sorrounding of the Mountain Range
Arrival to the city of Lima. Transfer from the airport to the Hotel. Contact with the Guide.
2nd day: LIMA – HUARAZ Breakfast in the hotel. Transfer to Huaraz by private transport or public bus; the trip lasts about 8 hours arriving in the afternoon.
3rd day: HUARAZ (3100) – CUARTELHUAIN (3900). We leave from Huaraz to Cuartelhuain at 8:00 am. The first snow mountains within sight the Ninashanca. We will pass by picturesque towns such as: Pocpa, and Paclla. Arrival to the. Cuartelhuain camp.
4th day: CUARTELHUAIN (3900) – MITOCOCHA LAKE (4100) 5 – 6 hour Walk. The first pass: Cacananpunta (4700). Some snow mountains in sight: the Ninashanca, Rondoy, and the Lakes like Pucacocha, and the small and the big Yanacocha. Then while descending until arriving to the Mitococha camp we’ll see the Snow Mountains Rondoy and Hirishanca.
5th day: MITOCOCHA LAKE (4100) – CARHUACOCHA LAKE (4138). 5 – 6 hour walk. Second pass: Punta Carhuac (4650). Descending by the gulch arriving to our camp in Carhuacocha. Panoramic view of the snow mountains: Jirishanca, Yerupaja, Toro, and others.
6th day: CARHUACOCHA LAKE (4138) – HUAYHUASH (4100). 6 – 7 Hour walk. third pass Carnicero (4600). Descending between the Lakes Atoqshaico, and Carnicero. We’ll see the Snow Mountains Siula, Jural, Carnicero and Trapecio.
7th day: HUAYHUASH (4100) – VICONGA LAKE (4407). 5 at 6 hours walk the. Fourth pass: Portachuelo (4750). We observe the snow mountains: Puscanturpa, Cuyoc, Millpo, and part of the Raura Mountain Range. Arrival to our camp in Viconga (4300). In the afternoon a nice bath in the thermal waters of Atuscancha (4000).
8th day: VICONGA LAKE (4407) – GUANACPATAY(3900). 4 at 5 hours walk. The fifth pass: Cuyoc (5000). The highest of the whole circuit. Down to the camp.
9th day: GUANACPATAY (3900) – HUAYLLAPA(3600). 5 at 6 hours walk. Descending along the Guanacpatay valley until arriving to the town of Huayllapa, Visiting the Auquimarca ranch, producers of cheese.
10th day: HUAYLLAPA (3600) – JASHAPAMPA (4700) ( BASE CAMP) DIABLO MUDO. 5 – 6 hour walk. Sixth pass: Punta Tapush (4900). The snow mountains Auxilio, Diablo Mudo, and others.
11th day: JASHAPAMPA (4700) – DIABLO MUDO(5250) – LAKE JAHUACOCHA (4100). Departure 4:30 am. Ascension to Diablo Mudo. Descent to the Jahuacocha Lake. We will have a panoramic view of part of the Huayhuash Mountain Range and Yerupaja, Hirishanca, Carnicero, Siula, Trapecio and others. The part of the group not climbing the Diablo Mudo will go through the seventh pass: Yaucha (4800) – where both groups will go down by the gulch Haucrish. From there we will be able to see part of the glacier of the Hirishanca and Yerupaja. Arrival to the lake of Jahuacocha, camp.
12th day: DAY OFF. Day off at the Jahuacocha Lake. Celebration with one of the typical dishes of Perú: “Pachamanca.” optional walk to the Solterococha lake and the base of the Hirishanca mountain glacier.
13th day: JAUACOCHA(4100) – LLAMAC(3250) – HUARAZ. 5 at 6 hour walk the last pass: Pampas de Llamac (4300). We will observe for the last time part of the Cordillera Huayhuash. Transfer from to Huaraz. 14th day: HUARAZ – LIMA. Transfer to Lima by private transport or public bus; the trip lasts about 8 hours. End of our services.
